Social health during quarantine

Social health during quarantine

I’ve talked about focusing on whole health which means that your optimal health comes from balancing the physical, mental, environmental, spiritual, and social parts of your life.

Social health focuses on the importance of having a strong positive connection to family, friends or people at work or school. You may have a strong relationship with only one or two people. But these connections are vital to your overall well-being.

While most countries are under quarantine, social health is harder to maintain, but not impossible. There are many ways to keep connected during this time.

Here are some ideas to keep up your social health during the quarantine.

Forgive. Positive relationships can’t exist without forgiveness. Learn to forgive yourself and others.

Reach out. Text, video chat, or call someone. These are three easy ways to speak to people each day. Take short breaks during your day if you’re working at home to make sure you talk to people every day. Especially if you’re alone. If you live with someone else or others, it’s still essential to expand your circle and speak to at least one more person. You may get sick of each other otherwise!

Organize online group events. Book clubs, cooking groups, workout buddies, games night, movie night and pub nights/crawls are just some ideas. My next post will elaborate on some of these ideas in more detail.

Join an online community. If you want to connect with people that have similar interests, join a community. Art classes, gaming, wine or beer clubs, blogging communities – the list is endless. More people are setting these up if you’re interested. In addition to searching in your area, Instagram and Facebook have lots of ideas. You may meet some interesting people from around the world!

Volunteer. Helping others can make you feel connected and give you the recognition that in giving your time to others, you’re ultimately giving to yourself. Many organizations allow for online methods for volunteering. Check online in your area to see what’s available.

These are some ways to improve your social health; do you have any others?

  1. There is no doubt that couples working from home at the same time is a test of the relationship. It is also an opportunity to discover each other.

  2. Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection. Dengue virus is responsible for dengue fever. Dengue fever can be cured if the treatment starts at an early stage. Further, dengue can be prevented by vaccination. If you want to take a dengue vaccine in New York then you can choose Travel Clinic NY. I also choose this clinic for dengue fever.
