boost your mood

Quick exercise to boost your mood on a bad day

Sometimes when things aren’t going quite your way, it can help to remind yourself of some good stuff. It may help to boost your mood. I’ve written about this a few times, but in the current times we’re in, sometimes a reminder is needed. I know for me it is when I’m having a rough day. I’m in the middle of a two-week issue with my web hosting company. It’s eaten up a lot of time. Sometimes, my cat wakes up in a bad mood – like today. So, playing with him is not an option to change my mindset unless I want to lose a finger! I personally don’t think he sleeps enough, but that’s another story for another post!

Here’s a quick exercise to get your mind thinking more optimistically.

Write down or tell someone close to you about a time in the past year when you experienced a feeling of success or something that really energized you. It could be significant, or something small, like your cat actually being in a good mood and wanting to cuddle!

Next, think about what things made this a positive experience for you.

Another option

I think of a tough situation I was in and how I overcame it. Or how I was able to turn it into something positive. That acts as a reminder that things may not be where I want them to be, but I’ve been there before, or worse, and gotten out of it for the better.

I hope one of these ideas works for you to help turn your thoughts around on a difficult day if you need it. If neither of these work, sometimes watching a movie or show that makes you happy may be the fix. In my ongoing battle with my web hosting company, I will do what I like to do when I need to smile. 1. Its challenging to boost your mood on a bad day because your mind is already conditioned to be on it. That’s why talking to someone and sharing feelings can ease the bad mood unconciously then eventually, you will realize that your mood is already improving 🙂

  2. Great tool to help you through the bad days! Thanks for sharing and I hope things get sorted with the web hosting issue 💖
