My fitness motivation is kind of low right now so I need this post to help myself. I hope it can help others that need it too!

This post is a detour from what I wanted to write today because I didn’t finish thinking through my original idea.  But since my fitness motivation is suffering lately, this post came easier to me. So, you’re getting fitness motivation from “I’m trying to get my stuff back together Sam”!

Reward yourself

If you’ve completed your scheduled routine for the week, treat yourself to something. Do an at-home spa day, send yourself a congratulations message or do something just for you!

Make yourself accountable

Once you get out of the “phase” stage of working out and into a “lifestyle” change approach, it’s much easier to keep it up. Exercise will feel like less a chore and become part of your routine, just like sleeping and eating. When you make fitness a priority, it becomes second nature and a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more often you do it, the faster results come, and when you see results, you’ll be more motivated.

What are some of your tips to turn workouts into a routine? I need any tips you have!

  1. Thank you for this post! Going into lockdown series 2 episode 1 this was much appreciated!

  2. This post is right on time! Especially because my motivation slipped a bit due to Gym’s not being open in my state. I know you can workout outside and at home. But it’s just not the same as the gym! I’m glad it’s reopening soon 🙂

  3. Excellent tips Sam! I like “Make yourself accountable.” One technique I use is to get a calendar and mark a big red X through the days I exercise. The goal is to not break the chain of X’s. It helps me to get out there even when I lack motivation. Thank you and take care.
