Awesome at home lower body workout

I’m finally getting into a better fitness grove at home. I’ve mentioned many times that I’m not the most motivated person when it comes to working out. I need a personal trainer or at a minimum, a gym to get me to exercise regularly. Left to my own devices, like now, I can find one million other things to do at home. Staring blankly at a wall comes to mind!

I’ve finally decided to schedule in (yes, that’s how bad it is to get me to work out on my own) 30 minutes every day to work out. I’m on day three, so I have a long way to go!

I’m lucky that my sister was a professional dancer and fitness guru, so I have some inspiration outside of YouTube. I also know how hard her workouts can be and how fit I was when I attended her classes. And, I attest that her exercises work, since I used to do them regularly.

Here’s a lower body workout from my sister’s archives that I love.

This lower body workout may work for you as well. I am more out of shape than I thought, so this one was a little tough for me after I was halfway through. I am being kind to myself in this post since I almost stopped! But there is no video evidence, and I did push through the pain point, so I think it’s a win!

For this workout, all you need is a mat or towel.

If you have wrist or ankle weights or an exercise ball, you can add some difficulty to the workout based on your skill and level.

I hope to add some resistance bands at some point – maybe in three weeks. Our quarantine has been extended for one more month, so I have time to be successful.

I will post another of her workouts on Monday. Here’s a link to a post I wrote with some other awesome routines you can do at home.

Stay safe and well everyone.

  2. Nice job. I didn’t watch the whole 42 minutes, but from what I saw it looks like a solid routine that could benefit people stuck at home. Thanks!
