I’m back on making smoothies regularly. I needed a bit of a shift in breakfast options and have been making a lot of tofu inspired breakfast lately. I love this smoothie for many reasons; one is because it tastes like spring or summer to me!

Makes: 1 large serving or 2 small servings
Total time: 5 minutes



  • 1 frozen  or fresh banana, chopped, if using fresh bananas, add some ice when blending the smoothie
  • 1 cup of vanilla almond milk (or soy or light coconut milk if you cannot use almond)
  • 1/2 scoop (22 g) vegan vanilla protein powder (or 3 tablespoons of organic vanilla bean powder)
  • 1 tablespoon of cacao nibs
  • 1/2 tablespoon of maca powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large pinch of sea salt
  • Cinnamon for sprinkling


Combine all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth. Drink immediately.
