I’m visiting Long Island, New York for a few days and staying with my cousins. For my random act of kindness Friday #16, I decided to surprise them with breakfast before they went to work to thank them for their kindness and super hospitality. Does it compare to all they’ve done for me, not quite, but I hope they like it!
I used some ingredients they had in their fridge and picked up some extras to make this vegan and gluten-free super green smoothie bowl recipe!
The ingredients in it help support heart health, relieve some symptoms of stress, boost your immunity and lower cholesterol.
Super green smoothie bowl
- Makes: 2 servings
- Total time: 10 minutes
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups unsweetened almond, soy or coconut milk
- 1/4 ripe avocado
- 2 medium frozen bananas
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries or raspberries
- 2 large handfuls spinach
- 1 small handful kale, large stems removed
- 1 tablespoon flax seeds
Toppings of your choice. These are the ones I used:
- Gluten-free granola
- Coconut, shaved, chopped or slivered
- Chia seeds
- Mint leaves
Add all ingredients minus toppings into a blender and puree until smooth.
